Angels and the Pendulum

by Nadia Fabian

A vendor from Vancouver, Canada came to see me at my store to sell pendulums and Robert Detzler's books Freedom Path and Spiritual Response Therapy, based on the use of pendulums. The vendor suggested that I contact Detzler about doing a free introductory seminar at the store. To check Detzler's credibility, I bought the books and read them that night. Using Detzler's charts, I began using pendulums to pick out winners in competitive sports. Although it was accurate, I did not become a believer until the pendulum picked the Marlins over the Mariners to win the World Series!

I began to consult it on a regular basis, mostly to get to know myself. One day, as I ran out of questions to ask, I decided to be creative. Since I know of two women who have someone to turn to whenever they are in a financial crisis, a special friend who does not ask for favors in return, I decided to ask the pendulum for such a friend. On October 28, 1997, I asked the following questions:

Q: I would like to have a special friend, one who will love me unconditionally, one who is very rich, one who will listen to me whenever I have a problem and lend a sympathetic ear, and one who will give me money whenever I need some. Will I have such a friend?

A: Yes. (Boy, did I get excited. "Finally," I said.)

Q: Will this happen this year?

A: Yes. (My heart is now racing.)

Q: Will it happen in December?

A: No. (Bummer!)

Q: In November?

A: No. (Now I am nervous.)

Q: In October?

A: Yes.

Q: How can that be when there are only four days left? I repeat: Will I meet this special friend within the next four days?

A: Yes.

Q: You're not telling me the truth. Perhaps there is a block or an interference here. Is there a block or interference?

A: No.

Q: Are you telling me the truth?

A: Yes.

Q: Have I already met this special friend? (I was thinking that perhaps I have already met this person.)

A: No.

Q: Okay, I shall wait all day today.

So all day I waited for this special friend to walk into my life. It did not happen on that day, October 28. As I was mulling over the events of the day in bed, I thought that perhaps I should ask for the name of this spirit or guide or energy, whatever it is, that is moving the pendulum, so I made an alphabet chart. The next morning, October 29, I asked the pendulum if it has a name.

Q: Do you have a name?

A: Yes.

Q: Are there five letters in your name?

A: No.

Q: Ten? Fifteen? Twenty? Thirty?

A: No. No. No. No.

Q: Okay, so you want me to use the chart I made. What is the first letter of your name?

A: A.

Q: What is the second letter of your name?

A: M. (I got excited. Perhaps Amelia is its name! A woman!)

Q: What is the third letter of your name?

The pendulum won't move.

Q: Point to the third letter of your name, please.

Again, it won't move, so I ask if there is a block or interference. Negative.

Q: Is there a third letter in your name?

A: No.

Q: Are you "I AM?"

A: Yes.

It was mind-boggling; I had finally made contact! I didn't know what to make of it; it was beyond my comprehension. I did not use my pendulum again for days, for I wanted to understand what it was all about. Two weeks later, Sharon Maynard, another pendulum expert, gave a demonstration on how to use pendulums for healing. It was fascinating to see how the pendulum is leading Sharon to discover problem areas in the body. Before Sharon left, she gave me a set of 18 angel cards as a gift.

She also said that they are real angels and that I should call on them for guidance. The next day, I placed the cards face down on the table and asked my pendulum to identify my personal angels. I allowed the pendulum to glide over each card, making sure not to get conflicting answers.

Q: I want to know my personal angels. Who among you is my personal guardian angel?

A: Marisa, angel of knowledge.

Q: Who is my protector, the one who will save me from anyone wishing to harm my body or personal belongings?

A: Ania, angel of faith.

Q: Who is my angel who will comfort me when I am despondent, lonely, and depressed?

A: Caro, angel of joy.

Q: Who is my angel of prosperity?

A: Nadia, angel of honor, hope and integrity.

This boggled my mind, for Nadia is my name. Only two weeks ago I met "I AM," supposedly my special friend, and now "Nadia," my angel of prosperity. This was very interesting! The cards confirmed what the pendulum had revealed, but I hadn't the faintest idea what the pendulum and the cards were telling me.

I continued working with the pendulum and discovered what a wonderful tool it is. What I couldn't learn in twenty years, I now learned in a few weeks. I have learned to heal and to interpret dreams. I have healed a liver condition, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), snoring, and have gotten someone a job. And it does long distance healing! I find the pendulum to be more accurate than kinesiology.

In just four months, the pendulum, angel cards, and I have become friends. As in any relationships, there are bound to be fights. I found out that when it comes to money matters, the pendulum and the cards were inconsistent. Their answers were even annoying. Once I got so mad at them that I fired my high self and my committee of spirits and guides and threw away the cards. I demanded a new set of helpers, but the next day, I relented, retrieved the cards, and asked:

Q: Are you still with me?

A: Yes.

Lucky me!

What precipitated this outburst of rage? After each session with the pendulum, I would take out my angel cards and ask who would want to walk with me on this day. Sometimes I would ask who would want to help me reach my daily sales goal. But every time I asked money questions, I would get Lala, the angel of play. I thought that I was beyond playing, for it had been so long since I last played, so I would just shrug it off, but Lala is persistent, so I asked the pendulum what the message was about.

Q: So you want me to play. Is playing the piano "play"? (I play the piano but haven't done so lately for I am too busy.)

A: No.

Q: How about soccer? (I quit playing soccer ten years ago.) Is soccer play?

A: No.

Q: How about bowling?

A: No.

Q: How about golf? I can take that up.

A: No.

Out of frustration, I threw away the cards, for I can't figure out what they were trying to tell me. I thought to myself that I needed to go beyond the pendulum. One day, a wholesale catalog arrived in the mail. As I was leafing through the pages, I saw an ad for a message board game called Angels Talk. I am not particularly interested in Ouija-type boards, and this looked like one, but I was intrigued by how it had come about. It was designed to help a dying child ease the pain of transition. The angels not only talked to the child, they healed the child, so I thought that I must have this board game. Out of curiosity, and because it is a board game, I asked the pendulum:

Q: Is "Angels Talk" play?

A: Yes.

Wow! I have never seen the pendulum swing so widely. The angels must have been jumping with joy, for I had finally gotten it. So this is how the angel of play wants to communicate with me! Immediately I ordered the game. Instead of playing, I opted for self-initiation. I asked the angels to tell me my special attribute. Lo and behold, they spelled "prosperity."

The pendulum, the angel cards, and now the angel board all have the same message for me: prosperity. They had been consistent and persistent. The angels say that I am to find out everything about prosperity, so I looked it up in the dictionary and then bought all the books I could find on prosperity. The best books I found were The Prospering Power of Love by Catherine Ponder and Prosperity by Charles Filmore.

Ironically, I'd had these books since 1986. Although they resonated well with me then, I found them too simple to be true. Their message: use words to overcome conditions. Continually affirming that "divine love prospers me now" increased my sales and helped me pay my debts.

In a roundabout way, the angels and the pendulum told me that I have to use affirmations to change my life. I have no doubt that the energy moving the pendulum is my own subconscious mind, for it knew that I have in my possession two books on prosperity. Its problem was how to get me to read them again, so it enlisted the help of the universal mind, the great storehouse of memory, which came up with the answer: make her use the Angels Talk board game. If Lala, the angel of play, had not been persistent, and if the Angels Talk game had not used the word "play" in its advertisement, I would not have noticed it, would not have read the prosperity books, and would still be wondering what is blocking my prosperity. They went through all these steps to answer my prayer, and thus bring me my desire. It's just incredible.

Last October 28, I asked the pendulum for a special friend, one who is very rich, one who would love me unconditionally, and one who would give me money whenever I need it. Today, I have that special friend: my own self. It is as though I had gone dowsing and struck gold.
