Healing, Ascension, and the Pulse of Life
AN INTERVIEW WITH BARBARA ANN BRENNAN
by Candy Cribbs As a receptionist at a busy clinic, I am the first to see ill patients when they arrive. Often, I am able to intuitively tune in to patients' diagnoses before their doctor sees them. The doctors used to dismiss my suggestions, thinking it was my imagination. It didn't take long for them to see a pattern of accuracy. They listen to me now, wondering how on earth I do it...and I wonder why they aren't teaching it in medical school!
A few months ago, a woman in her mid-thirties came into the clinic with severe abdominal pain. I embraced her, while she sobbed on my shoulder. She thought for sure that she had some form of ovarian cancer. I immediately sensed through her energy field that she was pregnant! But something wasn't right. I resisted telling her, and instead, I kissed her forehead and told her she would be fine in no time.
The doctor confirmed my suspicion; the patient had a tubal pregnancy. He assured her that she would be fine, but would need surgery almost immediately. As she left our clinic that day, she stopped by the front desk to express her relief. It was the perfect opportunity for me to explain how her chakras and energy field were ready to begin healing and balancing. She was intrigued.
Ever since, her interest in the subject has continued to grow, and we have spoken about it often. Barbara Ann Brennan is an expert on the subject of healing the whole body system. For more than two decades, she has researched, studied, and learned to work proficiently with the human energy field. She is a bioenergetic therapist and a leading teacher of hands-on healing.
In her early career, Barbara was a research scientist for NASA at the Goddard Space Flight Center. Now, it's a different story.
She is author of two books, Hands of Light and Light Emerging, written to teach the processes and levels of healing. She also founded the Barbara Brennan School of Healing in East Hampton, New York.
She currently teaches at the school and travels worldwide, giving lectures and workshops.
The Barbara Brennan School of Healing will be bringing a workshop to Seattle in June, at which Barbara will open with a public lecture on Healing Science. Although my story rides on the fringes of everyday application in reading the human energy field, the following interview with Barbara Ann Brennan gives a much greater depth to the subject.
Candy: What led you into your profession as a healer?
Barbara: (laughs) The only thing that comes into my mind is intelligence! Actually, it was a deep longing to know more about the important things in life. I wanted to explore the inner world of human beings, and find out how it related to what we perceive as the outer world all around us.
Candy: How do healers keep their own blocks, or personal issues, from interfering with their ability to heal others?
Barbara: By deep personal work - which is a requirement that never stops. It happens with deep introspection. It's finding out what the current [personal] issue is, being aware of it, and working on clearing it. That's the essential part of healing. There are always ways to regulate your auric field beforehand, so that you're centered. A big part of the training is to learn to work on yourself constantly and understand what self-clarity means. That pertains to all levels - not only the psychological level, but the spiritual, physical, and the mental level as well. There are direct ways to work on the auric field in the moment before, and then during healing, that helps the healer center. The issues are then put aside.
Candy: How often do you suggest one should return for maintenance treatment after the major healing has been accomplished?
Barbara: After people are essentially finished with the major healing, they usually don't want to stop! The work is so powerful! Life is an ongoing uncovering and clearing of blocks - at this stage of humanity, anyway. The client should be coming in periodically, depending on how she or he felt. In terms of maintaining health, and psychological health, most need to do ongoing work. How often, really depends on the individual.
Candy: Since we are all healers, what do you recommend most for people to do to open their own chakras and charge their energy fields?
Barbara: There are several levels of work that I believe everyone needs to do. One is to continue working on their issues, psychologically and spiritually. Since we're all healers, we also need to eat a good diet and exercise. In my book, Light Emerging, there are several chapters on the different needs that we have. There are seven levels of needs, and they are all related to the energy levels and the chakras. We need to make sure we fulfill those. Our needs on the psychological level are our relationship to our self, our relationship to others, and our relationship to the divine. We need to balance ourselves, our reason, will, and emotion. All of what I'm saying here corresponds to the balancing of all the levels of the auric field, so what we actually need to do is live a balanced, healthy life. That includes meditation and clearing. We need to learn how to center within the self, and learn how to live on what I call the "pulse of life." The pulse of life is the creative pulse, as it moves from our core essence, through our intention, which is the purpose in the moment. It continues down through all the levels of the auric field and into the physical. The more we can live in the moment and attend to that life pulse, and center ourselves at our core, the healthier we will be. That means attending, moment to moment, to all levels of our being. Each person relates to the spiritual in his or her own individual way. While many do it through meditation, others do it through other means. There is a way of living moment to moment on all the higher principles that we know.
Candy: You wrote about the "senses of the seven chakras." I'm curious, were you saying that they directly relate to the dimensions beyond the third?
Barbara: Yes, definitely! The auric field is in the fourth dimension. When we're sensing any of the seven levels of the auric field, we're sensing beyond the third dimension. We are then in the fourth dimension! Many people use dimensions to relate to higher levels of the auric field as if it's more than the fourth. In my experience, the dimensions beyond the fourth are not necessarily the auric field, but are other things, such as intention and essence. And we do use High Sense Perception for those. That comes from the core essence at the hara line, which is located one and a half inches above the navel.
Candy: Where does your personal guidance come from as you are working on a patient, and do you use crystals, music or any specific aids to accomplish healing?
Barbara: I use my guide or the guides of the client. My guide, Heyoan, is also me on higher dimensions. When I work with a client, which is mostly in demonstrations now, I will give whatever [healing or information] comes through the guides. I don't normally use crystals, although I did years ago. I certainly don't object if people have crystals with them during the hearing. If the client wears an amulet or a crystal during the healing, I will charge it up while I'm in trance. I often use a harpist, who channels music at the same time during a healing, and I definitely use toning. I channel information on what kinds of things the individual needs to do. I read the field of the client and channel information about the auric field and the physiology that corresponds to the problem. That includes the origin of the problem, which is usually the physical and psychological history. I may channel something about diet, self-care, meditation, or whatever the person needs to do. Maybe they need to work on certain issues or certain relationships with people in their lives.
Candy: Are you currently working on another book or expanding lecture topics for the near future?
Barbara: I would love to be working on another book! I've had something in mind for over two years, but I'm just so busy! As for expanding lecture topics, I channel information all the time. What we're currently working on now is ascension. We're getting a lot of information about it, and it's kind of a down-to-earth guidance. It's very different than I thought it would be! Ascension means moving from a physically based reality to a consciousness-based reality. We're receiving a lot of guidance about the process. First of all, I had no idea how self-oriented I was, according to the physical world. I'm really surprised at how much people are really self-oriented in the space-time continuum. Another thing that I discovered about ascension is, when you self-orient toward the center of the core essence (the hara line), the physical world becomes more and more pleasurable, and you experience it more. Ascension has nothing to do with leaving the physical plane!
Candy: I wish we had talked about this first!
Barbara: (laughs) It's amazing! What it does is dissolve the false boundaries, where most people are oriented in the physical or psychological world. But ascension means integrating all of them - the spiritual, the mental, psychological, etc. It all seems to be just words, until you actually start experiencing living on the pulse of life, as it moves through all of the world, and everything starts changing. What I'm really interested in is the correlation between quantum mechanics - or what the physicists know about the world - and if it corresponds to what I've been channeling.
Candy: Will you be talking about ascension at the workshop coming up in Seattle?
Barbara: After we've gotten the basics down on Healing Science, yes. Definitely, yes!
