With John and Jan Price
More than ten years ago, John and Jan had a suggestion for the world: let us gather together in consciousness across the planet, unified in our intent and desire for world peace; let us meditate, all together, for one hour, one day a year. It was called The World Peace Event, and it has been a smashing success! Jan has just written a book, The Other Side of Death, in which she shares with us the knowledge that was revealed to her in the eternity that was the short time she was clinically dead. By all accounts, she has brought nothing but good news. John's newest book, Angel Energy, expands our understanding of the living energies that seek expression through us and around us. His higher understanding of angels is another leap forward in thinking that is available to all of us. I have considered the possibility that John and Jan are the angels creating paradise, and we are but lucky players. Scott: We've seen more accounts of near-death experiences in the last few years, but what I believe makes yours most valuable, Jan, is that rather than inspiring a faith and belief in your spirituality, you had those things before going to the other side. You were able to go into it not being overwhelmed with shock at being away from your body, and had a profound learning experience as a result. Jan: I think most people would be shocked that there is something there after we die, but I expected something; I would have been surprised if there had been just a void. There was much more to it than I ever imagined, and I learned a great deal about life here, but I wasn't surprised to find myself still conscious. Today, our technology allows us to bring back more people from death. Esoterically, those of us who are coming back are making a clearing in the race consciousness of that belief, that fear of death. We're helping clear the belief that there is no more when we die. Scott: Or that upon the day we do, we'll be judged... Jan: Yes, and as each person comes back it's like another little area clears. As we clear the race consciousness of fear, we clear all the maladies that fear brings about. Scott: John, your writings were the first place I read the proposal that our spiritual evolution was going to occur collectively, for everyone on the planet. I believed that we would all evolve individually into a higher consciousness, but the idea of the whole race taking part was a new one. John: And this attainment of complete consciousness has been achieved over and over again on the planet, by individuals. When I had my first angel experience with a being that came into our bedroom, I began doing research the following day. Over weeks and then months I went all the way back to Egyptian civilizations and found that they believed there were 22 aspects of the soul; aspects of each individuality, nothing separate from us. Twenty-two causal powers that were given to us to help us make the journey through life, conflict free. To help us get through this physical incarnation in great joy, and great love; to enjoy the experience. Then I tracked these through up to the Greek mystery schools, when Aristotle coined the term "energy." Then they began calling these 22 aspects energies within us. Living energies. In Time magazine we read that physicists have just discovered 22 orders, or frequencies, within the sub-atomic world. It ties right into the building blocks of our consciousness and what mystics have been saying for millennia. If we can stop repressing these energiesif they're not being repressed by our egowe can live in a near perfect world on this planet, and it's so exciting. Scott: I was glad to read that we are never without the company of at least one angel. I'm also glad to hear that the physicists are catching on. John: Another thing they're saying is that the whole world of everything we call reality is not created through the sub-atomic level until that world is observed. Scott: You mean that until we think we see something, or seek something, there exists only energy? John: Yes. It made me think that these angels, these living energies, go into a state of positive agitation when we observe them.... Jan: When we recognize them and become aware of them. Something else I want to address is the idea that this plane of existence is less spiritual than others; and the idea that there are two planes: here and there. It's not that way at all. There are multitudes of places and ways to be and none is more spiritual than any other, they are just different ways to be. We're here for the adventure of it, to see how it works. It works differently in dense energy. Here we create things where there is a duality, and it is as spiritual as any other place or way of being. We've been waiting to get to a high spiritual place, but we're already there. John: One of the things that touched me about Jan's experience was that she was told prayer and play have the same meaning. If you tell that to a person on the street they'll say how completely and totally opposite play and prayer are. Jan: If you observe a child at play, they are completely absorbed. They are focused on the wonder of what they are doing at that moment in time, and that's what prayer is. When we're doing that, being fully present in the moment, we are in prayer. To pray without ceasing is to be completely focused on the wonder of life. John: When Jan shared with me her instructions that we were to live for the fun of it and that every day is special, and that this plane is not less spiritual than any other, the hair on the back of my neck stood up. Even the ancients have said that this is hell; heaven is over there. You've got to go through this and then make it to the other side. Jan came back and she said no. Everything she learned when she was taken to the temple expanded our concept of what we're here to do. Since her experience, we have lived and played, and loved and laughed. Everything is done for the joy of it. Jan was also told that no one has ever done any thing wrong; that we could not have done anything other than where we were in consciousness at any given point in our history. There is no wrong doing, and consciousness does not punish. There is no punishing entity. Jan: If we're here to experience this reality and see how it works, we can't do anything wrong. Some of us are creating things that are unpleasant, some of us are creating things that are pleasant, but neither way is wrong. We're learning. Scott: I want to go back to what you said earlier about being able to be in a near-perfect world. So often I'm discouraged by the reality of a near-perfect world being possible because we're all in this together and many people simply refuse to care. John: One of the basic things we learn from the ancient schools is to become detached from the world so that the emotional world is not disturbed. Not unfeeling, but not reactive. We work on staying as clear as we can, on making no judgement on the things that we observe, and knowing that everybody is expressing perfectly through the level of consciousness they are on. I know what I can do for the world is to change my consciousness, to rise as high in understanding of spiritual principles as is possible. As I do this I will automatically be drawn into an energy that radiates healing. And that's the way we heal the world. Jan: The one thing you can a-ways do to help diffuse unpleasant situations, if you know how to work with energy, is to pull in that love energy, and shape it and send it out. This is an action we can always take. We work with the energy, get still, send out that love light, and we send it directly to the unpleasant situation or person. We don't try to tell it what to do, we don't try to make something happen to those people, but at least we send this love energy to them which knows how to start to stabilize the situation. John: A lot of the old masters said the will power, the will faculty, is centered directly above the top of the head. Taking that will energy, feeling that head chakra open and will energy coming down and connecting with the love energy in your heart to create a will to love. And then begin to radiate from the heart with all the will and see with the mind's eye energy coming out and literally surrounding, saturating, permeating those people. Sometimes when you send people love like this, you'll see them jerk or twitch and it's okay to keep watching them and let that energy flow. Jan: What we do when we make a judgement that someone is being bad is we send them the energy that, "You're bad." If, instead, we look and recognize only an unpleasant situation, then when we send forth this love energy we're releasing judgement. We're not trying to make anyone better or change them, we're just sending a creative energy of love. What we have to remember is to stay on the highest level of consciousness as much of the time that we can. One of our friends says that we have to be able to do it in McDonald's. If you're doing it in meditations, great, but you've got to be able to do it in McDonald's too. Leading up to the first world healing day, I became aware of all the suffering on the planet, by all creatures, and I just ached. I was in meditation one day and heard, "The world is too much with you." I saw the world in my arms and it was like a child, and it began to vomit. That is when I heard that message. If you are embracing the old, sick world, you're not going to be able to help it. You need to detach yourself enough to be able to see it from a higher vantage point in order to heal it. Forgive the world and all the people for not being the way you want them to be, and then you can heal the world, but if we hold it close and let it vomit all over us, we can't help. I sometimes think of us as God's secret agents. I shared that idea with a friend of ours in New York who got so excited about it that he said he was going to ride the subway, radiating love as one of God's secret agents. Sometimes I think that's what we are. Scott: Do you think anything about our future as a race is set in stone? John: No. I believe the only stone the future is set in is based on where we are at this moment in time. There is a general thread of the future that winds forward from where we are right now, but it changes with every change in consciousness. Scott: Well, before we close this interview, do you have any final messages for the good people of the world? John: I'd like people to understand that these angel energies are 22 aspects of the higher self. These are 22 aspects of you, not something separate from you. I think that's so important for people to understand.... Jan: They are your powers. And I want people to know that we have all creative power and are constantly creating our reality. There are many planes of existence that we create on, and this one is no less spiritual than anyplace else. Scott Parshall is a local writer, editor, and humorist.
