Bastyr Nation
By Bob Condor
There
are many different ways to join the Bastyr Nation. For Petra
Eichelsdoerfer, the entry point was long, painful and life-changing.
Eichelsdoerfer is a trained pharmacist.
For most of the 1990s, she worked for the Seattle-King County
public health department dispensing both prescriptions and compassion
at its main clinic. Her pharmacy targeted indigent populations,
family planning, refugee services and travel medicine.

Finds Her Balance

Family
dynasties are often envied more for the perceived glamour of
their public personas than for the realities experienced by those
born into the name. Whether you're a Kennedy, a Rockefeller or
a Hemingway, crafting a life for one's self involves more than
a simple coming-of-age tale; it's an entire Homeric journey.
The dragons and demons you're required to vanquish are not merely
your own, but include any others still haunting the family members
who came before you.

Fishy
Evidence

President
George W. Bush was right, when in 2000 he said, "Washington
faces important challenges, and there's no greater challenge
than to save salmon
For all of us, those fish are a wonder
of nature and they must be preserved." He was right again
when he visited our state in August, and spoke about the importance
of salmon to the Pacific Northwest.

On Sept. 11 last month, exactly
two years after the most horrible of imaginable days, James O'Dea
was talking about the American flag.
"A flag sticker placed on
a car means you are pro-war and pro-Bush administration,"
he said during a telephone chat. "We are collapsing its
meaning."

By adding
the universal year 2003, (2+0+0+3) = 5, to the 10th month of
October, we come up with the vibration of 15/6. The 6 month asks
us to tune into how we can be of service to others through expressing
the healing power of love. The challenge this month is to learn
how to tap into your love of beauty and harmony so that you can
come into balance. Take some time this month to work on beautifying
your environment. By doing so you will feel more harmonious and
balanced and others will feel healed solely by being in your
space. Try to see yourself as a channel for unconditional love
flowing through. As you tap into this love yourself you will
be able to give it to others without feeling burdened or drained.
