By adding the universal year 2003, (2+0+0+3) = 5, to the 3rd month of March we come up with the vibration of 8. The 8-month represents an opportunity to achieve greater mastery in our lives. It’s a great month for taking a look at your goals and brainstorming new possibilities for accomplishing them that you might not have thought of before. Try to suspend the critic, the cynic, and the skeptic and move into new, uncharted territory. March 2-5: Move into Action. Mars in Sagittarius is in positive relationship with Uranus in Aquarius March 2-5. Since Mars is in the fiery sign of Sagittarius, this is a great time to bring out your idealistic spirit. Combining the raring-to-go energy of Mars in Sagittarius with impatient Uranus in Aquarius provides plenty of rocket fuel to kick-start you into action. This transit is kind of like drinking a triple latte everyday without the crash! March 2-27: Envision a New Paradigm. Venus moves through the sign of Aquarius from March 2 through March 27. With Venus in Aquarius, we have an opportunity to broaden or break open our personal value systems. Venus in Aquarius helps us to envision a new paradigm of relationship that is in sharp contrast to the co-dependent model we now have. Since Venus rules the heart chakra, with Venus in Aquarius you may want to break free from traditional ways of sharing your heart energy. This could include: more openness or experimentation in your relationship forms, wanting to be intimate (not necessarily sexual) with more than one person, desiring to expand your personal love to include expressing impersonal love for those in need of help, and experimentation with different forms of sexuality. Let Venus in Aquarius help you open your heart to greater intimacy and authenticity in all of your relationships. March 3: Surrender to the Process. The new moon in Pisces on March 3 completes the moon’s voyage around the zodiac. In the final stage of nature’s cycle, as many of you gardeners know, the soil is being broken up or composted to be made ready for spring planting. With the new moon in Pisces, you have an opportunity to surrender to this process by letting go emotionally. Going with “the flow,” immersing yourself spiritually, and finding positive outlets for your compassion are all ways of tuning into this moon cycle. March 4-21: Re-envision your Dreams. Mercury journeys through the sign of Pisces from March 4-21. Our job when planets are journeying through the sign of Pisces is to learn the value of surrender and to open our consciousness so that we can transcend our perception of separateness. With Mercury in Pisces, you have an opportunity to communicate your understanding of these principles to others. If you have learned the lessons of walking your talk, taking a stand for yourself, and creating distinct boundaries, you can now flow more gracefully with the Piscean energies without fear of losing yourself through unconscious merging with others. Creating a sense of distinct personal boundaries is often one of the greatest challenges for those who have been very open emotionally and intuitively from an early age. Often, the intuitive sees his or her gifts as a liability rather than an asset. The hidden blessing from the soul perspective, though, is that the intuitive/feeler personality has had great training in merging or transcending self. If we can reframe these abilities in a spiritual context this month (i.e. the “urge to merge” with Spirit), then the highest manifestation of Pisces energies — the desire for unity consciousness — can emerge. With Mercury in Pisces, it’s also time to re-envision your dreams. One of the most powerful ways you can do this is to access the imaginal realm through journaling, drawing, meditation, or daydreaming. All new possibilities are created through the imaginal realm. By allowing your imagination to lead at this time, you may access new ways of being that you’ve never “dreamed” of before. March 4-April 21: Concentrate Your Will. Mars moves through the sign of Capricorn from March 4-April 21. This is an excellent time for concentrating and focusing your will on whatever you want to bring into manifestation. Mars is at home in the sign of Capricorn and is like the general who creates the overall battle plan and then uses strategy, tactics, and the skillful use of resources to put that plan into action. With Mars in Capricorn, you have the ability to concentrate your will so that you can bring your goals into manifestation. It’s interesting that the Latin word for manifestation, manifestus, literally means hit by the hand. In order to manifest, you must be willing to cause action to occur, to set up such a strong intention that the universe knows you are serious! Use Mars in Capricorn this month to create a strong plan for the manifestation of your worthwhile goals. March 10: Revolutionize Your Spirit. Uranus, which has been in the sign of Aquarius since 1995, now moves into the sign of Pisces from March 10, 2003 until May of 2010. With Uranus in its own sign of Aquarius for the last seven years, we have seen major changes, innovations, and disruptions on the planet. Uranus transforms by breaking up structures that have become rigidified and no longer serve the collective. During Uranus’ transit through Aquarius, we have seen the planetary vibration increase and, correspondingly, the speeding up of the process of change and transformation. At the same time that the frequency of the planet has increased, the gravitational pull of the earth has decreased, thereby facilitating breakthroughs in consciousness that were not possible previously. We have also seen, as would be expected, major advances in high-speed communications, computers, and energetic healing during Uranus’ transit through Aquarius. Now that Uranus has created an opening for us on an energetic level, we can deepen our spiritual growth as Uranus moves into the sign of Pisces. With Uranus in Pisces, what is being called for is a true revolution of spirit. We are moving into a new era of spirituality that is based on direct perception of God or unity consciousness. As people are empowered and understand that it is no longer necessary to depend on external religion to “bind” us to God (the true meaning of the word religion), a new freedom of Spirit will be released on the planet. No longer willing to be constrained by the dogma and hierarchy of traditional religious structures, the people will begin to see that a new “religion” is needed. The characteristics and values of this new religion will be tolerance, acceptance of diversity, unification, and inclusion. As we begin to see and accept that every religion has a piece of the whole truth, we can truly move from separation consciousness into unity consciousness. March 18: Nurture your Body/Mind. With the full moon in Virgo, awareness is focused on taking care of our selves on an emotional level. Use this month to find out what your body needs to support your emotional health. Maybe it needs more exercise, better nutrition, or more attention paid to your diet. The full moon in Virgo helps you to tune into how you can nurture the relationship between body and mind. Use the positive qualities of Virgo — discernment and discrimination — to put your life and daily routine into increasingly coherent order. By being mindful about how you can make your daily life more streamlined and efficient, you will be able to fully experience the balance, harmony, and peacefulness brought in by the moon in Libra March 21: Catalyze Yourself into Action. The Sun moves into Aries, marking the Spring Equinox, on March 21. The principles of Aries are initiation, germination, and emancipation. In the natural world, it is a time of sowing and germination. The seedling breaks out of the seed and makes its way through the soil to emancipation. The Aries principle is symbolized by the catalytic process and by acts of initiation and innovation. Our job during the sign of Aries is to spring into action in new and innovative ways, using natural leadership and delegation skills to empower others to become involved in whatever we’re committed to. So save your “spring cleaning” for fall when you are going to be inside, and use the Aries energy to catalyze yourself and others into action. March 21-April 5: Initiate Communication. Mercury travels through the sign of Aries this month from March 21 through April 5. With Mercury in Aries, the spotlight is on creating a new reality for yourself through your speaking. Mercury is associated with the throat chakra, which represents your communication abilities. The throat chakra also governs how you use your will to create your reality through your thoughts and by speaking your truth. You could be the greatest thinker in the world, but no one would ever know unless you opened your mouth! With Mercury in Aries, the focus is on taking initiative and leadership in the arena of communication. What do you stand for? What is it that you have to communicate that will catalyze and empower others to act? What communications have you been putting off because of fear of what others would think? With Mercury in Aries, the emphasis is on being the spiritual warrior in all areas of communication. March 22: Empower Yourself. Pluto will be retrograde in Sagittarius from March 22 through August 28. With Pluto retrograde in Sagittarius, this is a time to check in with how you are manifesting your power and speaking your truth. Since Pluto in your birth chart represents where you tap into collective power or will, Pluto retrogrades are a time when you can reflect on how you are using your personal power. Do powerful people make you uncomfortable? Do you react strongly to any perceived misuse of power from those in your life? Do you often see in others a tendency to manipulate or control? If so, then the Pluto retrograde period is a time to look at how you are feeling disempowered in your life. Conversely, it may be a time to discover how you can increase your sense of personal power into more areas of your life. In particular, Pluto retrograde in Sagittarius is asking each of us to speak our own truth more powerfully. This is especially so for those born in middle degrees (19-20 degrees) of Sagittarius, as Pluto will be conjoining (occupying the same degree as) your sun this year. Pluto transits to the sun bring to the surface whatever we have repressed or hidden. If you have been hiding your light under a bushel and not sharing your truth (you know who you are!), then Pluto says, “Let’s blow apart whatever is preventing you from sharing your light and truth with others!” March 27-April 21: Unconditionally Accept. Venus travels through the sign of Pisces from March 27 through April 21. Venus in Pisces brings awareness of how we can be more accepting of others and ourselves. In other words, no matter what you have done, or have failed to do, you are always loved in the eyes of God/Goddess.
