By adding the universal year 2003, (2+0+0+3) = 5, to the 2nd month of February we come up with the vibration of 7. The 7 month is about taking the time to tune into what has meaning in your life. It is a time for inner reflection, contemplation, and rest. Use this month to tap into what has meaning for you through art, meditation, being close to nature and, if possible, retreat time. Look to see how you can create a harmonious balance between alone time for expanding your insights, creativity, and practical accomplishment.

February 1: Practice Detachment. The new moon at 12 degrees Aquarius brings in a new cycle of growth and awareness this month. Relationships, in particular, will be affected by this event as the moon represents what we need for emotional security. The new moon in Aquarius calls us to learn emotional detachment. The challenge is to be able to detach from your relationship dramas without abandoning your partner. In other words, the challenge is to learn how to maintain your own sense of personal autonomy while being emotionally present to the needs and desires of others.

February 1-4: Surrender Your Will. Mars in Sagittarius is in a positive relationship with Neptune in Aquarius February 1-4. The combination of Mars, representing personal will and drive, with transcendent Neptune is a particularly interesting combination. Mars/Neptune asks us to transcend or surrender our will so that we can be guided by spirit. In terms of world issues it is a good indication of negotiated surrender. At the same time we are learning that surrender is not a passive action but requires that we combine strong intent (Mars) with non-attachment (Neptune).

February 4: Manifest Your Values. Venus travels through the sign of Capricorn from February 4-March 2. Venus is the planet that is associated with the heart chakra; what has heart for us, what we are passionate about or what we value. When it is in the sign of Capricorn, we feel the effect of Capricorn’s ruling planet, Saturn, as well. Saturn represents the principle of manifestation or our ability to ground ourselves in the physical world. With Venus in Capricorn, we tend to be more pragmatic or realistic about what we can accomplish. This is a great time to look at how you can ground your financial position (Venus) by increasing your assets and streamlining (Saturn) your liabilities. Use Venus in Capricorn to come up with a solid plan for saving money or paying off accumulated debt. It also a great time to review your spending habits to see if you are "putting your money where your heart is."

February 4-6: Energize Your Mission. Mars in Sagittarius is in flowing aspect to Jupiter in Leo from February 4-6. The trine is a powerful aspect because it represents the potential integration of two planets’ energies in a synergistic way. Mars is the planet of will and Jupiter is the planet representing expansion. Mars/Jupiter asks us to tap into the archetype of the spiritual warrior, putting our will or power (Mars) behind our idealism or vision (Jupiter). The challenge is to not force your mission, no matter how holy, on others! Use the energy of Mars trine Jupiter to map out your strategy and game plan. Align your will with divine will and you can be assured of success.

February 9-22: Expand Your Vision. Jupiter in Leo is in flowing aspect to Neptune in Aquarius from February 9-22. This is an interesting combination, as both planets are expansive and associated with developing a broader vision. Since Jupiter is in Leo, the sign of creativity, it is an especially good time to go on a vision quest. In the shamanic tradition, vision quests were opportunities to break out of the mold of everyday thinking (often through fasting or sacred substances) so that a higher vision of one’s purpose could be attained. The same outcome can be achieved with this transit by evoking and fostering the imaginal realm. As you bypass the rational mind through drawing, trance work, hypnosis, or dream work, you can access deeper layers of mind that can bring forth an expanded vision of who you are.

February 12: Liberate Your Mind. Mercury moves through the sign of Aquarius from February 12 through March 5. With Mercury in Aquarius this month, the emphasis is on liberating (Uranus) the mind (Mercury). The Aquarian influence helps us to break free from any ways in which our thinking has become crystallized or stagnant. Use Mercury in Aquarius to help open your mind to new possibilities and insights. Be willing to act on any "illuminations" or intuitive insights that you might receive during this period.

February 14-17: Direct Your Will. Mars in Sagittarius is at the same degree as Pluto in Sagittarius for the next couple of days. With the Mars/Pluto combination, you have an opportunity to direct your willpower into projects that bring out your sense of compassion or inspire you to serve others. On the other hand, though, this combination can represent a time when your tolerance for others is at a breaking point! The way to deal with the intense martial energy of this aspect is to find a cause you believe in and take action. This will help shift the energy from frustration to empowerment.

February 16: Nurture Your Child. This month, the quality that is emerging is our ability to nurture ourselves through becoming aware of the divine child within. The divine child is the source of your creativity, spontaneity, and enthusiasm. Its qualities are mirrored back to you through the love and appreciation you have for the innocence and directness of the external children you meet in your day-to-day life. What you love about external children are the exact qualities inherent in your own divine child. This is a time to relax the inner critic, the overly responsible part of your personality, so that you can tap into the pure, spontaneous innocence of the child. For many of us, this is not necessarily an easy task, as we may have been overly responsible all our lives and the part that likes to have fun has been pretty much squashed out of us.

The beauty of contacting that child, though, is that he or she holds the potential of your creative gift to the planet. It is the divine child within that knows your mission, your unique creative gift to the world. By tapping into that wisdom, you not only express your own personal creativity more fully but you then release the possibility of contributing your unique legacy to the planet. Use this month to tap into your sense of wonder and awe, the joy and aliveness that you receive by being totally present and in the moment. Bring a sense of play into your life by being willing to let go of your seriousness and self-consciousness. And remember, no matter how deep your child may be buried among the rubble of responsibility and duty, if you take some time this month to nurture yourself on this level you may be pleasantly surprised to find a willing child that wants to come out and play!

February 18-21: Let Go of Control. Mars in Sagittarius is in challenging relationship with Saturn in Gemini February 18-21. These two planets in opposition suggest serious conflicts of interest or outright power struggles. On a global level, we can expect flare-ups and outbreaks of violence or resistance. On a personal level, this period could be marked by frustration and interpersonal conflict. Try to decide what is worth fighting for, and let go of the rest. On a positive note, Mars/Saturn can help you concentrate your will so that you can be focused and disciplined. You are also being asked by Mars/Saturn to learn how to manifest strong will without having attachment to the results. In other words, you are being challenged to let go of control (Saturn) of how you think things should turn out.

February 19: Surrender Your Individuality. The Sun enters the sign of Pisces on February 19. It is in the final stage of nature’s cycle during the sign of Pisces that the composting soil is becoming ready for spring planting. The breaking up process that has taken place in Aquarius is taken to its logical conclusion in the complete destruction of form and blending into the whole. The Pisces principle involves surrendering the personal sense of "I" to allow for integration into the whole. Your job when planets are journeying through the sign of Pisces is to learn the value of surrender and to open your consciousness so that you can transcend your perception of separateness.

February 21: Ground Yourself. Saturn, which has been retrograde in Gemini since October 11, resumes its 2-and-a-half-year journey through the sign of Gemini on February 21; it will be there until June 2003. When Saturn, the planet representing form, structure, and consolidation is combined with the sign Gemini, ruled by the planet Mercury, the principle is the constructive dissemination of information. On an individual level, Saturn in Gemini is challenging us to learn how to remain grounded in an increasingly complex and information-intensive world. The challenge with Saturn in Gemini, then, is to balance the benefits of new technologies with common sense! As new technologies come into our lives, we have the choice of either being seduced by them or learning how to use them so that we can free up time to devote to our relationships, family, and community.

February 25-28: Focus Your Mind. Mercury in Aquarius is in positive relationship with Pluto in Sagittarius from February 25-27 and Saturn in Gemini February 27-28. You can use both of these transits to create clarity and understanding of your deeper intentions. Mercury/Pluto helps to make our minds more incisive. You probably won’t be content with small talk at this time, and you may want to cut to the chase in your communications with others. Mercury/Saturn can help you focus your mind in a more linear fashion. Use this transit to do strategic planning, complex scheduling, or writing that requires a systematic approach.
