As a spiritual teacher and counselor, this is the reference book I’ve been waiting for. I know there are other books on the topic of chakras, yet I feel this is one of the best out there. It is a coffee-table size book, it is beautifully illustrated, has very good descriptions of the chakras, and has techniques and exercises for tuning into the chakras and getting to know their uses. It can’t get any better than that!

The term chakra comes from the ancient Sanskrit word meaning "wheel of light," referring to the subtle energy found around all living beings. There are seven main chakras that reside within the human energy field, and each corresponds to an area of the physical body and a gland associated with that area. Each chakra is experienced as a color in the light spectrum, roughly following the rainbow pattern.

ELDERWOMAN
Reap the Wisdom, Feel
the Power, Embrace the Joy
by MARIAN VAN EYK McCAIN

Findhorn Press

For many years a transpersonal psychotherapist, Marian Van Eyk McCain now teaches the wisdom of a woman’s elder years. Like Poor Richard’s Almanac by Benjamin Franklin, The Sayings of Chairman Mao, or Baby and Childcare by Benjamin Spock, this book is a bible for our time, when the postwar girls are reaching maturity — and not a coy "certain age" but "an elder stage."

Stage is truly the word, for post-menopause is not only the third major period of a woman’s life (maidenhood, nurturehood, and elderwoman), but also a platform where a woman’s experience and guidance can be presented to the world.

According to my research, Tarot Cards, the first deck of tarot cards was created in Italy. However, the history of the cards can be traced further back to contributions from Jewish, Egyptian and French history.
