Molecules, Miracles, Passion, and the Unity Field
— Albert Einstein With the birth of history's seventh millennium, the significance of our relationship to God now takes on even greater meaning as it shapes the scientific foundations of our future — perhaps the keys to our very survival! For the first time in recorded history, science has placed at our fingertips the ability to permanently change our genetic code, shift the patterns of our planet’s weather, engineer entirely new forms of life, and copy existing ones as cloned replicas — powers that have historically been left to God and the forces of nature. Each of these technologies holds the promise of improved standards of life, unprecedented opportunities of healing, and ultimately the survival of our species. If used unwisely, however, all carry the potential for tragic consequences, lasting for periods of time measured in hundreds of generations. As we coax from Nature her innermost secrets, we are faced with what may well become the greatest challenge of our species. Now, the same science that unravels Creation’s mysteries must answer the question of where such powerful knowledge "fits" into our lives. In doing so, we open the door to solving what is perhaps the deepest mystery of all: the very nature of consciousness, our souls, and our relationship to the cosmos. In coming to terms with the consequences of our technologies, we must clearly define for the first time our relationship to life itself, one another, and ultimately our Creator. Shortly after the Cuban missile crisis of October 1962, then-president John F. Kennedy challenged the greatest minds in western technology to successfully send a man to the moon and bring him back safely. Eight years later, on July 20th, 1969, the world listened to the short, crackly bursts of a human voice from the lunar surface. "That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." Neil Armstrong’s words echoed within the hearts and minds of the family he had left behind on another world. In that moment, as a species, we reached out to another world. Prior to July of 1969, the idea of placing a man on the moon had certainly been considered. While it was assumed that we would achieve such a technological feat at some point, the president of the most technologically advanced nation in recorded history had to challenge his nation to accomplish the feat before the resources were dedicated and the miracle of placing a human on the moon was achieved. We may be at precisely such a crossroads today, in an adventure of a different kind. While our machines describe the nature of the universe "out there," they do so in terms of data and statistics. As useful as each piece of information may be, each may have missed the subtler aspects of a unifying force that we have yet to capture, photograph, or measure. For some scientists, the intangible nature of this force is precisely the sticking point. Quantum theorist John Wheeler illustrates this viewpoint through his guidelines in determining what is real and what is not. "No elementary phenomenon is a real phenomenon", he states, "until it is an observed phenomenon." For others, it is precisely the uncharted nature of these qualities that make the mystery of the cosmos very personal. As we understand ourselves, we gain insight into the very nature of Creation itself. In some respects, our race to understand our world appears to have outpaced the wisdom of how such awesome power may be applied responsibly in our lives. At the very least, to move forward with the technologies that allow us access to the forces of nature, we must answer the basic questions of our existence: 1. What is the difference between "mind," "soul," and "consciousness?" 2. At what point does a human life acquire a soul? 3. Does a cloned human body have a soul? 4. If, as studies suggest, we are directly linked to the forces of the earth, how do technologies that manipulate nature and our world affect our bodies, emotions, health, and relationships? Among the ancient and varied accounts of our most sacred traditions, there is a common theme that weaves a sense of continuity through our past. As different as the stories, myths, and records appear at first blush, each attempts to describe the existence of a single all-powerful force that unifies the miracle of Creation. In the oldest known texts exploring the origins of the cosmos — the 8,000-year-old Zend Avesta, the 3,500-year-old Rig Veda of ancient India, and the fragile remains of the Dead Sea Scrolls — varied traditions describe the existence of a single all-powerful force, the source of the seen, as well as the unseen worlds. Scholars have traditionally interpreted such descriptions as references to God. In these instances, God is the omnipotent presence that existed before time and lives as all things. As well as science has served us, the path of the scientific method has led us to an interesting dichotomy. The very beliefs of science that prevent our personal experience of Creation’s unity from contributing to our story of the cosmos have now become the greatest limitation to our understanding of Creation. From the bizarre behavior within the sub-atomic fields to the beautiful displays of new galaxies and the death of ancient stars, we see evidence of a force that unites all of Creation. How do we unify evidence with the visible processes of nature as a single explanation of the cosmos? The answer to our search for the underlying principle of Creation may already exist, in a form that has survived the tests of nature and man’s quest for dominance of our world. As good as our science appears to be, the greatest minds of science admit that it is incomplete. Amidst the clarity of the genetic code, Einstein’s equations relating energy and matter, and the marvel of internet communication, there are great gaps and glaring inconsistencies that remain in our scientific understanding of our world. At the same time, the most sacred traditions of humankind may also hold the most complete record of our origins, history, capabilities, and ultimate destiny. The key is to recognize that the wisdom preserving our ancient understandings has been recorded in the language of another time. Before the vocabulary of dimensionality, electromagnetic forces, and quantum holograms existed, the principles explaining the secrets of Creation already existed. In the language of their day, those who have come before us attempted to convey their life-changing knowledge in the only words they knew. In such a vocabulary, dimensionality becomes "heaven" and invisible forces become the presence of "angels." Discoveries in 20th century physics now lend new credibility to the existence of precisely such forces. Additionally, a growing body of evidence suggests that all forces exist within a single, all-encompassing field that envelopes and permeates all of Creation. This force, now defined as the quantum hologram, is described as a form of intelligence that responds to our deepest emotions and is linked to our personal hardships and success, as well as the suffering and peace of our world. Three groundbreaking experiments in the last decade unveiled dramatic and undeniable evidence of this unconventional energy, a matrix that now appears to link each member of our global family, Creation, and the events of our lives in unexpected and empowering ways. Relegated to technical journals, and receiving little attention from mainstream media, the experiments reported by leading research institutions of our day shake the foundation of traditional science. These experiments document that: 1. We communicate with our world through a previously unrecognized form of energy that functions beyond the bounds of time and space. 2. DNA directly influences our physical world through this form of energy. 3. We influence our physical DNA through a non-physical energy that is directly linked to human emotion. What are these, and similar studies, telling us? Why has this web of energy been overlooked by the best science of our time? Less than one hundred years ago, quantum physics, a language that bridges science and spirituality, was created. Following his 1917 acceptance of the Nobel Prize for developing quantum theory, physicist Max Planck made reference to his sense of the mysterious energetic field that appears to be the blueprint of our world. Astounding his colleagues with words that continue to challenge the foundation of our modern beliefs, Planck stated that "All matter is held in place by a 'force'. . . behind this force we must assume the existence of a conscious and intelligent mind. This mind is the matrix of Creation." The language of quantum physics now allows us to explore Planck’s "matrix" through ancient accounts of precisely such a force. Almost universally, ancient traditions describe a time when the "wisdom of the heavens" was given to the people of the earth. Key in that wisdom was the knowledge of a unifying force that permeates all of Creation. Through a knowledge that has been largely overlooked today, that force was recognized, acknowledged, and applied. Recently recovered records of lost biblical traditions, such as the Dead Sea Scrolls, The Gnostic Nag Hammadi Library, and non-canonized texts such as the Biblical Book of Enoch offer fresh insight into the nature of Creation’s unified field. Such documents preserve what may be the oldest descriptions of our relationship to what many physicists now call the "Mind of God." Our relationship to this unity field is part of a great mystery that may be summarized as follows:
A growing number of scientists now look to the quantum hologram to explain the lingering mystery of Creation’s unity. At the same time, the neutral language of physics serves to bridge the chasm that has historically separated science and spirituality. It is this "inner technology" that empowers women, children, and men to redefine their roles in Creation and recognize their ability to actively participate in the events of their lives and their world. What would it mean to discover that the great mystery of modern science and the great secret of spiritual and religious traditions are the same? Twenty-first century science is on the threshold of the one discovery that may answer this time-worn question. Making that discovery will solve one of the deepest mysteries of our species — our relationship to Creation itself. |
