A Guide to Online Prayer Sites

by Terria Fleming

Prayer is a wonderful resource in a sometimes-troubling world. Prayer groups have been around ever since the first people came together to support each other in times of need or in thankfulness and celebration. Prayer is a mysterious and beautiful phenomenon.

Now prayer groups are flourishing online. Prayer on a global scale is available to all. All the barriers of time and distance that once kept groups of people from praying together — or even knowing about each other — are gone. The world is now united in prayer 24/7.

There are literally thousands of prayer request sites on the Internet; these 12 are special ones, however. Each site is dedicated to providing prayer support to anyone who needs it. In my experience, prayer online has been warm and personal; I’ve never been treated like a number. I think you’ll find the same to be true for you.

Angels and Miracles Prayer Team

Mary Ellen ("Angel Scribe") produces a wonderful online newsletter called the Angels and Miracles Good-News-Letter. On her Web site, Mary Ellen also includes a prayer request area for all beliefs. I can personally attest to the "miracle" aspect of this prayer group, because I have been one of the prayer team members for over a year, praying daily for people who request prayer. I have been privileged to witness miracles of all kinds unfold in the lives of the people we pray for, myself included.

The Angels and Miracles Prayer Team is a wonderful group, and I’m very blessed to be a member of the team. One of the aspects I like most about it is the fact that it's a prayer request site for anyone, regardless of race, religion, creed, gender, color, etc. This is truly one world, and the Angels and Miracles Prayer Team reflects that global outlook. I appreciate that.
