By adding the universal year 2001 (2+0+0+1=3) to the 9th month of September, we come up with the vibration of 12/3. The 3 month is a time for tapping into joy through creative self-expression. What aspect of your creativity wants to come out this month? Are you a closet painter, writer, dancer, or musician? Is there something that you are really passionate about that you would like to share with others but have been holding back? Use this month to discover your own form of creative expression. Let yourself be like a child and really get down and play this month!

September 2 Full moon in Pisces On September 2 we have a full moon in Pisces at 2:43 p.m. The full moon in Pisces asks us to tune in to our desire to merge with spirit. The full moon in Pisces is calling us to bring full awareness to the path of surrendering our sense of separation so that we can once again experience the bliss of unity consciousness. Use this full moon to nurture yourself spiritually through contemplation, meditation, flowing movement, and music.

September 4-18 Mercury aspects Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto Mercury trines Neptune from September 4-5, sextiles Pluto September 9-10, and then trines Uranus September 16-18. With all three outer planets aspecting Mercury, the ruler of all areas of communication, we can expect major breakthroughs in our thinking process this month. Neptune and Uranus both activate our ability to access higher intuitive states, so by being receptive at this time, you might receive guidance that can be quite illuminating. Pluto helps us to be able to take action on our guidance, as Mercury/Pluto aspects are all about speaking our truth powerfully and with conviction.

September 7 Mars enters Capricorn Mars moves through the sign of Capricorn from September 7 through October 27. This is an excellent time for concentrating and focusing your willpower on whatever it is that you want to bring into manifestation. Mars is at home in the sign of Capricorn, and is like a general who creates an overall battle plan and then uses strategy, tactics, and the skillful use of resources to put that plan into action.

With Mars in Capricorn, we have the ability to concentrate our will so that we can bring our goals into manifestation. It’s interesting that the Latin word for manifestation, manifestus, literally means "hit by the hand." In order to manifest, we must be willing to cause action to occur, to set up such a strong intention that the universe knows that we are serious! Use Mars in Capricorn this month to create a strong plan for the manifestation of your worthwhile goals.

September 9-12 Mercury trine Saturn With Mercury in Libra in a positive trine relationship with Saturn in Gemini, we have an opportunity to align our ideas with a definite plan of action. What is the form or specific plan that you can begin implementing that would really contribute to your overall sense of mental well-being? Mercury trine Saturn is a great time for taking on any project that requires you to focus your mind on specific details.

September 13-14 Venus opposite Uranus Venus in Leo has an enlivening opposition to Uranus in Aquarius September 13 and 14. Venus/Uranus provides an opportunity for opening our heart chakras by literally running high voltage through the heart. This is represented physically and etherically through the process of channeling universal energy (Uranus) through the heart chakra (Venus) as in Reiki. Allow Venus/Uranus to help you break free from any restrictions you may be feeling in your emotional expression.

September 17 New moon in Virgo With the new moon in Virgo, our awareness is focused on taking care of ourselves on an emotional level. Use this month to find out what your body needs to support your emotional health. Maybe it needs more exercise, better nutrition, or more attention paid to your diet. The new moon in Virgo helps us to tune in to how we can nurture the relationship between body and mind.

September 20 Venus enters Virgo Venus, the planet of love, travels through the sign of Virgo from September 20-October 15. Virgo is a sign that is often misunderstood in our culture due to various misinterpretations of its fundamental purpose over the centuries. The images that we have of Virgo, particularly Venus in Virgo, are the spinster, the chaste woman, and the celibate. In other words, Virgo has not been seen as a particularly sexy sign!

If we go back to Greek mythology, though, we find the sign Virgo represented by the vestal virgins, sacred priestesses that tended the eternal flame in the temples. They were known as virgins not because they were asexual, but because they remained unmarried and belonged to no man and were whole and complete unto themselves. The vestal virgins also knew the secrets of how to awaken the kundalini energies within the body and were knowledgeable about Indian yogic practices such as tantra. Far from being chaste, the virgins practiced the high art of sexual devotion, and were masters at transforming sexual energy for the purposes of enlightenment.

When Venus is in Virgo, we all have the opportunity to look at how we are manifesting our sexual energy. Are we repressing it, denying our own needs? Are we in touch with the desire to make our sexuality part of our spiritual path and not separate from it? I have found this to be a huge issue with many of my clients and this issue is often expressed as: "If I can’t integrate the sacred into my sexuality, then why bother?" It seems that many people are just not willing to separate their sexuality from their spirituality anymore. This is reflected in the growing interest in tantric practices and other forms of sacred sexuality.

September 22 Sun enters Libra The sun moves into Libra on September 22, the day of the autumnal equinox. The autumnal equinox marks the beginning of fall, which initiates a new balance in nature. The falling of leaves begins the formation of fresh humus that will eventually replenish the soil depleted by the year's growth. The Libra principle is associated with balance, equanimity, justice, and mediation. Our job in the sign of Libra is to be peacemakers; to promote a social consciousness that is just to all and to reflect and mirror to others the balance and beauty, the light and dark, of relationship.

September 26 Saturn retrograde Saturn, at 14 degrees Gemini, goes retrograde from September 26 until February 7, 2002. The challenge with Saturn in Gemini is to keep grounded (Saturn) in the face of rapid change (Gemini). Basically, this transit is about taking the time to figure out your game plan for the next year. During Saturn’s retrograde, try to get in touch with the specific, measurable results that would have to be produced in order for you to know that you have reached your goals. This is a time of recommitting ourselves to "walking our talk," to be truly accountable for our actions, and to take a stand for what we want to manifest.

September 29-October 3 Venus trine Mars Venus in Virgo is in positive relationship with Mars in Capricorn September 29-October 3. This is a wonderful transit for sharing love and experiencing expansion of the heart energies. Take time to appreciate the loved ones in your life. Let your heart lead and show you what to do and say. There is a great opportunity for openhearted sharing and vulnerability. It’s not too bad for romance either!
