Manganese is a hard, gray-white metal never found in nature as a free element. It combines easily with oxygen. When added to steel and alloys of aluminum, manganese increases strength and resistance to shock and corrosion. In the form of potassium permanganate, it is used to purify public water supplies. These attributes allow manganese to address weakness and toxicity in issues of the heart. Pink to fuschia coloration in minerals is caused by manganese. A mineral containing minute quantities of manganese will be pink, but a gem-quality crystal of manganese-containing minerals is often deep fuschia. For example, rhodochrosite can be found as a soft pink dusting on top of mineral specimens, but its highest quality crystals glow clear and rich fuschia. Pyroxmangite is a manganese silicate containing only manganese, silicon, and oxygen. Where rose quartz is also a silicate colored by minute quantities of manganese impurity, pyroxmangite derives its deep color from a higher percentage of manganese. Both minerals are silicates. Rose quartz possesses a near-legendary ability to provide loving support to all people, yet pyroxmangite steps up this amperage by bringing in the energy of the ancestors, especially grandmother spider, the great weaver. Spider represents a world center and the being who wove together the forces of the universe that life might manifest. From her self she created patterns of life and death as well as time. Her spinner aspect is most highly utilized by moon goddesses, who weave destiny, fate, and protection from harm. All these attributes are found in pyroxmangite. Rhodochrosite is a manganese carbonate, meaning that it contains only manganese, carbon, and oxygen. It cleanses and amplifies the aura and other subtle bodies. It resonates to the Tree of Life, resurrection, the life force, and eternal life. It represents the unification of heaven and earth through the waters of the heart. Rhodochrosite moves energy in a torus (donut or bagel configuration) pattern through the heart. The upper triad of chakras (five, six, and seven) are melded with the lower triad of chakras (one, two, and three) through the fourth (heart) chakra. Energy wells up from the heart to the crown and falls over in a rounded shape to the root chakra, and is drawn back through the heart in an unending flow. Rhodochrosite is excelled only by manganocalcite in the ability to transmit loving tenderness. Manganocalcite is a manganese-infused calcium carbonate, so its chemical constituents are manganese, calcium, carbon, and oxygen. Rhodochrosite serves the subtle nearly exclusively, while manganocalcite bridges to the bones due to the presence of calcium in its chemical structure. Manganocalcite aids the liver, sexual impotence, the nervous system, and lactation. It also helps with blood clotting, enzyme production, anxiety, stress, and irritability. Manganocalcite emits a feminine, receptive vibration, and promotes connection to feminine spirit guides and angels. It can be called the mother stone, as it transmits mother energies of giving life, nurturing, and love. Three minerals seem to literally leap into action as harbingers of love. They are rhodochrosite, manganocalcite, and pyroxmangite. All three contain manganese in simple chemical formulas, which makes manganese the culprit in figuring out the love quotient of these minerals.
