By adding the universal year 2000 (2+0+0+0=2) to the 4th month of April, we come up with the vibration of 6. The 6 month asks us to tune in to how we can be of service to others through expressing the healing power of love. The challenge this month is to learn how to tap into our love of beauty and harmony so that we can come into balance. Take some time this month to work on beautifying your environment. By doing so, you will feel more harmonious and balanced, and others will feel healed solely by being in your space. Try to see yourself as a channel for unconditional love flowing through. As you tap into this love yourself, you will be able to give it to others without feeling burdened or drained.
April 3-7 Mars conjunct Jupiter Mars in Taurus is at the same degree as Jupiter in Taurus is from April 3 through April 7. The conjunction is a powerful aspect, because it represents the combining of two planets' energy in a synergistic way. Mars is the planet of will, and Jupiter is the planet representing expansion. Mars/Jupiter asks us to tap into the archetype of the spiritual warrior, putting our will or power (Mars) behind our idealism or vision (Jupiter). The challenge is to not force our crusade, no matter how holy, on others! Use the energy of Mars conjunct Jupiter to map out your strategy and game plan. Align your will with divine will, and you can be assured of success.
April 4 New moon in Aries The new moon in Aries asks us to speak out boldly about what we need for emotional fulfillment this month. The new moon in Aries is calling us to bring full awareness to our needs so that we can be totally present and authentic with others. Only when we can truly nurture ourselves and honor our own needs for independence, autonomy, and freedom can we truly be in relationship with others.
What nurtures us this month is activating our will to initiate action in our lives. If there are any projects that you've been putting off, use the new moon energy to get yourself motivated and into action!
April 6 Venus enters Aries Venus passes through the sign of Aries from April 6 through May 1. This is passion time! Take a look at how passion figures into your life during this transit. What do you get passionate about? The positive pole of passion is self-actualization, heightened awareness, and being intensely alive. What can you do now that increases your sense of aliveness?
Needless to say, this is a great time to renew the passion in your relationships, too! With Venus in Aries, it is also time to take constructive action on what you value or are passionate about. Try to be guided by your heart rather than your mind at this time. By tapping into what you are passionate, you also tap into your dharma, that sense of mission or purpose that will give your life increased meaning and joy.
April 12 Mercury enters Aries. Mercury also travels through the sign of Aries this month from April 12 through April 30. With Mercury in Aries, the spotlight is on creating a new reality for ourselves through our speaking. Mercury is associated with the throat or fifth chakra, which represents our communication abilities. The fifth chakra also governs how we use our will to create our reality through our thoughts and through speaking our truth. You could be the greatest thinker in the world, but no one would ever know that unless you opened your mouth!
With Mercury in Aries, the focus is on taking initiative and leadership in the arena of communication. What do you "stand" for? What is it that you have to communicate that will catalyze and empower others to act? What communications have you been putting off because of fear of what others would think? With Mercury in Aries, the emphasis is on being a spiritual warrior in all areas of communication.
April 13-17 Mars conjunct Saturn With Mars in Taurus at the same degree as Saturn in Taurus, this is a good time to get any unfinished business done. Mars/Saturn helps us concentrate our will so that we can be focused and disciplined. Mars in Taurus is about using the will in a highly disciplined and productive way. In other words, it's time to muster up your strong will and take action steps that will get you closer to achieving your goals.
The shadow side of Mars/Saturn comes up when we try to force things to happen or attempt to control others to further our own needs. Letting go of control as a way of being is an important theme that we are all being asked to look at now. Looking at the hidden costs of control now will prevent breakdowns from occurring as Mars starts to square Uranus.
April 18-21 Mars squares Uranus Mars in Taurus is in a challenging relationship to Uranus in Aquarius from April 18 through April 21. If tension has built up during Mars/Saturn transits, you can count on Mars/Uranus transits releasing it. The problem is that Mars/Uranus releases tension with sudden, unexpected, and often unpredictable action. Try to resolve any built-up tensions, whether on a physical, emotional, or mental level before Mars starts to square Uranus. In some ways these two transits are analogous to an earthquake: tension is first built up and then dramatically released.
It's important to release any tension before this transit so that the Mars/Uranus energy is not externalized in the form of breakdowns. These transits are also precursors to the May 3rd alignment where seven planets in Taurus will be in challenging aspect to Uranus and Neptune in Aquarius. This alignment challenges us to balance the forces of change (Aquarius) with the forces of stasis (Taurus). If we try to resist change, breakdowns will occur. If we embrace change without honoring our need for security, connection with the earth and groundedness (Taurus), the change will not be sustainable
April 18 Full moon in Libra The moon is full today at 28 degrees of Libra. The full moon in Libra represents our needs for cooperative, balanced, and harmonious relationship with others. This is a great time to look at where we are on this continuum between independence and dependence. Somewhere in the middle, there is a new paradigm called interdependence, and that is what this full moon is offering us during the month.
The moon in Libra calls us to balance our desire for intimate merging with others while at the same time acknowledging our own needs for autonomy. The challenge this month is to really acknowledge the vulnerability and fear of rejection or abandonment we may feel when we express our true needs to others. The full moon in Libra is asking us to communicate from a balanced center, where we consider both the needs of the other and ourselves equally.
April 19 Sun enters Taurus The sun moves into the sign of Taurus on April 19 at 10:40 a.m. In nature, the outward impulse to manifest and thrive that was present in Aries now gives way to the methodical and practical shaping of the new life, thereby creating a secure foundation for future growth. The Taurus principle involves the practical shaping and formation of value. Our job during the sign of Taurus is to define and codify our values what we own so that we can actualize our potential and leave an inspiring legacy for others.
April 22-25 Venus and Mercury sextile Uranus Venus in Aries is in a positive relationship with Uranus in Aquarius April 22-23, and Mercury in Aries has the same aspect to Uranus April 24-25. Venus/Uranus is a transit associated with the opening of the heart. Uranus represents universal energy, and when it is in aspect to Venus, representing the heart chakra, it is a time when we can "open our hearts" to others and channel our heart energy to them. People with natal Venus/Uranus aspects are seen as very charismatic personalities. On an energetic level, this is because they are beaming out a lot of heart energy. Use the Venus/Uranus transit to beam some of your heart light to friends and family.
Mercury/Uranus transits stimulate the concrete mind with intuitive information that is being "downloaded" from the higher mind. This is a great time for brainstorming new possibilities, as our minds will be much more receptive and open to this realm of perception.
May 3 Planetary alignment in Taurus On May 3, the sun, moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn will all be in the sign of Taurus squaring either Uranus or Neptune in Aquarius. The last time all of the inner planets were in the same sign was back in February 1962 in the sign of Aquarius. With seven planets in Taurus squaring Uranus and Neptune in Aquarius, it is time to ask critical questions concerning how grounded we are in the face of massive change.
Here are some questions that you can use for your inquiry: 1) As things speed up in my life, am I taking care of myself on the physical plane? 2) Am I balancing the need for progress in my life or world with an equal concern for the welfare of the earth? 3) Am I now willing to let go of old ways of being based on resistance and control? 4) Am I spending as much time in nature as I do with high-technology devices designed to "improve" my life? And 5) What would my life look like if I let go of any resistance to being more fully alive?
