By adding the universal year 2000 (2+0+0+0=2) to the 2nd month of February, we come up with the vibration of 4. The 4 month is a time for grounding and manifesting on the physical plane. The number four is all about producing tangible results in material form. With a solid plan of action, you can make great strides toward manifesting your goals this month. Look at your New Year's resolutions or goals for the year and brainstorm activities that will get you closer to your goal. Then prioritize those activities and schedule them into your daily life. By breaking your goals into monthly, weekly, and daily activities, you will find that even the largest goals become doable.

February 5 Mercury enters Pisces Our job when planets are journeying through the sign of Pisces is to learn the value of surrender and to open our consciousness so that we can transcend our perception of separateness. With Mercury in Pisces from February 5 until April 12, we have an opportunity to communicate our understanding of these principles to others. If we have developed a sense of strong personal boundaries, we can then flow more gracefully with the Piscean energies without fear of losing ourselves through unconscious merging with others.

If you have wanted to make changes in your life, use Mars in Aries to start making things happen!

Creating a sense of distinct personal boundaries is often one of the greatest challenges for those that have been very open emotionally and intuitively from an early age. Oftentimes, the intuitive sees his or her gifts as a liability rather than an asset. The hidden blessing from the soul perspective, though, is that the intuitive/feeler personality has had great training in merging or transcending self. If we can reframe these abilities in a spiritual context this month (i.e. the "urge to merge" with Spirit) then the highest manifestation of Pisces energies, the desire for unity consciousness, can emerge.

February 5 New moon in Aquarius The new moon at 16 degrees Aquarius brings in a new cycle of growth and awareness this month. Relationships, in particular, will be affected by this event, as the moon represents what we need for emotional security. The new moon in Aquarius calls us to learn emotional detachment. The challenge is to be able to detach from our relationship dramas without abandoning our partner. In other words, the challenge is to learn how to maintain our own sense of personal autonomy while being emotionally present to the needs and desires of others.

February 11 Mars enters Aries Mars passes through its own sign of Aries from February 17 through March 22. If you have wanted to make changes in your life, use Mars in Aries to start making things happen! In other words, through the power of your will, affirm to others that you are committing to a course of action! Take a stand about what you intend to create in your life, and find others that will support and empower you in following through. Now is the time to deepen your level of commitment to implementing your goals. Let Mars in Aries be your ally, your greatest supporter and coach!

February 14 Jupiter reenters Taurus Jupiter reenters the sign of Taurus on February 14 and will be there until June 29, 2000. With Jupiter in Taurus, we have an opportunity to reconnect with the wisdom of the natural world. Jupiter in Taurus calls us to learn from the wisdom of our bodies and the earth. With Jupiter moving direct through Taurus, we have an opportunity to see how interconnected we are with the planet. The esoteric ruler of Taurus is the earth, so Jupiter in Taurus helps us expand our consciousness through tuning in to the wisdom of earth-based or indigenous spirituality. It is a great time to expand your knowledge of shamanism, Native American ritual, body-centered psychotherapies, yoga, or any form of conscious movement.

February 16-19 Mars sextile Neptune Mars in Aries is in a positive relationship with Neptune in Aquarius February 16-19. Mars in Aries is in its own sign this month, and so is particularly strong and fiery. The combination of Mars, representing personal will and drive, with transcendent Neptune is a particularly interesting combination. Mars/Neptune asks us to transcend or surrender our will so that we can be guided by Spirit.

In terms of world issues, it is a good indication of negotiated surrender. Personally, we are being asked to learn how to manifest strong will without attachment to the results. In other words, we are being challenged to let go of control of how we think things should turn out. At the same time, we are learning that surrender is not a passive action, but requires that we combine strong intent (Mars) with non-attachment (Neptune).

February 17 Venus enters Aquarius Venus journeys through the sign of Aquarius from February 17 through March 13. With Venus in Aquarius, we have an opportunity to broaden or break open our personal value system. Venus in Aquarius helps us to envision a new paradigm of relationship that is in sharp contrast to the codependent model we now have.

Let Venus in Aquarius help you open your heart to greater intimacy and authenticity in all of your relationships.

Since Venus rules the heart chakra, with Venus in Aquarius we want to break free from traditional ways of sharing our heart energy. This could include more openness or experimentation in our relationship forms, wanting to be intimate (not necessarily sexual) with more than one person, desiring to expand our personal love to include expressing impersonal love for those in need of help, and experimentation with different forms of sexuality. Let Venus in Aquarius help you open your heart to greater intimacy and authenticity in all of your relationships.

February 19 Sun enters Pisces The sun enters the sign of Pisces on February 19. It is in the final stage of nature's cycle during the sign of Pisces that the composting soil is becoming ready for spring planting. The breaking-up process that has taken place in Aquarius is taken to its logical conclusion in the complete destruction of form: blending into the whole. The Pisces principle involves surrendering the personal sense of "I" to allow for integration into the whole. Our job when planets are journeying through the sign of Pisces is to learn the value of surrender and to open our consciousness so that we can transcend our perception of separateness.

February 19 Full moon in Virgo With the full moon in Virgo, our awareness is focused on taking care of ourselves on an emotional level. Use this month to find out what your body needs to support your emotional health. Maybe it needs more exercise, better nutrition, or more attention paid to your diet. The full moon in Virgo helps us to tune in to how we can nurture the relationship between body and mind.

February 21-22 Venus conjunct Neptune Venus and Neptune in Aquarius are at the same degree for these two days. Venus represents the energy of the heart chakra and the expression of personal love. Neptune represents the intuitive energies of the third eye center and the expression of divine love. When the two are together in Aquarius, it represents an opportunity to tap into the source of unconditional love and forgiveness. Allow your heart to open so that you can practice unconditional acceptance of loved ones, friends, and yourself.

February 21 Mercury retrograde I don't know about you, but the last Mercury retrograde (November 5-25) seemed pretty intense to me. I ended up taking an unplanned vacation from my work, and at first it was a little disconcerting. After I surrendered to the situation, though, I accomplished a great deal of inner work, reading, and planning. Since I am an extrovert naturally, it seemed like I was being forced to take off time to focus within. During Mercury retrogrades, we are being asked to shift our attention from the external reality to the internal reality. On the other hand, though, some clients with natal Mercury retrograde report that Mercury retrogrades are the times when they accomplish the most!

This month, Mercury goes retrograde at 17 degrees Pisces on February 21, and will go direct again on March 14 at 2 degrees Pisces. With Mercury retrograde in Pisces, it's time to re-envision your dreams. One of the most powerful ways you can do this is to access the imaginal realm through journaling, drawing, meditation or daydreaming. It is through the imaginal realm that all new possibilities are created. By allowing your imagination to lead at this time, you may access new ways of being that you've never "dreamed" of before!
